Hello! I’m Alexis, Leverage’s new Web Developer & Designer. I joined Leverage as an intern this past summer and am currently working with the team through my last semester at Grand Valley State University. I love helping the team to keep websites organized and create beautiful graphics and designs for clients.
Five Things About Alexis
1. I am a Licensed Cosmetologist
I went to cosmetology school during my junior and senior years of high school. Initially, I wanted to work in a salon when I “grew up,” but I soon learned it was more of a hobby. In my spare time, I still do hair at the mini salon in my home, and my favorite thing to do is updos. I love doing hair for events like proms and weddings!
2. I Love Art
I have always had a love for art and creating with my hands. It doesn’t matter what the medium is; I love it all and am always down to learn a new skill! A few of my favorites are painting, ceramics, mosaics, hand lettering, and, of course, graphic design. Next on my list to learn is how to make rugs!
3. I am a Thrifting, DIY Queen!
What can I say? I love the hunt! My friends and family call me a professional thrifter. Let me know what you’re looking for, and I will find it. Thankfully, my husband is a carpenter and helps me with all my crazy DIY furniture flips!
4. I Love Cooking
I grew up cooking with my mom and grandma and have always loved trying new recipes and combining art with food. I’m the one carving a watermelon to look like a bunny for Easter dinner because why not? Food is fun! My favorite food would have to be BBQ ribs – especially in the summer; they just taste better on days filled with sunny vibes.
5. Camping is My Favorite
I love going camping up north with my husband and dog, Winston. We have a place we like to go to every year and always look forward to hunting for Petoskey stones.
