Hello! I’m Kate, Leverage’s Digital Marketing Manager and strategist. I joined the Leverage team in 2022 as a part-time contractor and, since then, have become the full-time manager of all digital content, including digital advertising. This position certainly keeps me on my toes! I love the fast-paced work within a small, independent agency and being part of a team that produces beautiful designs and compelling campaigns.
Five Things About Kate
1. I am a Certified Pastry Chef
After my first year at Michigan State, I wanted to try out a more hands-on program than typical schooling. So, while finishing my Bachelor’s degree, I also went to culinary school where I learned everything from bread making to fine dining desserts and chocolate sculptures. It was an amazing experience, and I still cater events for friends and family.
2. I LOVE Reading
Barnes and Noble is my happy place! I typically go every weekend to pick up a new book or magazine and an iced coffee. I recently finished Where The Crawdads Sing and just started reading Lessons In Chemistry.
3. I am a Beach Girlie
After graduating from college, I specifically only applied to jobs along the Lakeshore (anywhere from Holland to Petoskey). I love being 10-15 minutes away from multiple beaches for hiking all year long. There is nothing quite like the first smell of the sand and surf after all the ice thaws in the spring!
4. I Rescue Dogs
I grew up in a household with multiple rescue cats and dogs. When I got a house of my own, I immediately started scouring PetFinder and local rescues. My first rescue was a senior Yorkie named Genevieve, my second a senior Poodle named Ted, and now I have an adult Shih-Tzu/Yorkie mix named Emmett!
5. I Love Trying New Classes
Over the past couple of years, I have been trying out different types of art classes in Grand Haven and Grand Rapids. Recently, I participated in an embroidery class, a felting class, a bouquet class, and a pour-painting class.
